Haystack Mountain

Haystack Mountain in Norfolk, CT has many awesome trails for hiking and nature walks.  Whether you are an avid hiker or just out for a casual stroll to catch a view of the abundant wildlife, Haystack Mountain is ideal for you.  At the top of Haystack Mountain is a historic stone tower with a circular stone stairway leading to the top of the tower.  At the top of the tower are breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.  To get to the stone tower, drive to the end of the paved road and park there.  The path at the end of the paved road is about a 15-20 minute walk to the top of the mountain.  Don’t forget to stop and view the unusual varieties of mushrooms that grow along the path.  And of course, look up and around for rare glimpses of the birds, owls, and other wildlife.
